Chris Wooten

Attorney

I never planned on a career in the law.  I took my first paying job when I was fourteen, stocking drink coolers and sweeping floors at a country gas station.  I was the oldest child in my family, so I had to make my own way and put myself through college. I would often work two or even three jobs at a time.  I’ve worked as a grocery store clerk, dishwasher, and security guard.  I’ve dug ditches and driven ground rods by hand, waited tables, unloaded freight trucks, and stocked shelves.  I’ve been a restaurant prep cook and retail store manager.  I’ve worked third shift on a factory floor.  I learned that any job worth doing is worth doing right, and that every job deserves respect.  Then, when I had the opportunity to go to law school and become an attorney, I realized that I had a chance to stand up and fight for the people that I had worked alongside my whole life.  From the day I passed the Bar, I’ve done nothing but represent working people and their families, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

THE HISTORIC LINCOLN MILL

It is important to have a sense of place. It is important to have a sense of history. It is important to remember the hard work and sacrifices of those who came before us and made our world possible. These thoughts were very much on my mind when I started my own law firm and are among the reasons I am proud my office is located in Huntsville’s Historic Lincoln Mill.

Before World War II, Huntsville was a mill town, and the principal driver of the local economy was spinning cotton into fabric and clothing. Lincoln Mill was part of the largest mill complex in the city at that time. During the war, with the founding of Redstone Arsenal as part of the fight for freedom, national defense started to gradually replace the mills as the main industry in town. Then in the postwar period, Huntsville got into the business of rockets, science, and technology–and the rest is history.

Lincoln Mill played a vital role in Huntsville throughout this evolution. Its workers spun cloth to clothe and equip our soldiers during World War II, then after the war, it housed NASA labs for the scientists who worked on the Apollo space program. Now it’s home to a diverse group of government contractors, tech companies, media firms, independent offices—and Wooten Injury Law, LLC.

Our office is located in Suite 3—just off the North Lobby.  Enter through the double doors on the northwest corner of the main Mill building and we will be the first office on the left.
